The Violet Crown Sports Association, led by VC member and former Marine Doug Burnett (far right in picture), joined forces with the US Marine Corps Reserve to assist in the "Toys for Tots" campaign. On Saturday, November 17th a Club Charity ride was led by David Simmons and David Serrins; each partcipant provided either a cash donation or a gift for a child.

Also, on Monday, December 3rd at the VC Club Meeting each attendee was asked to provide either a cash donation or a gift for a child. The accompanying photos were taken of VC members Doug Burnett and John Collins making the contribution donation to the the US Marine Corps Reserve members. Notice that we were able to fill the back of Doug's pickup truck with toys and gifts. The Club received much thanks and a certificate of appreciation for the effort and donation. And many needy Austin kids had a happier Christmas because of the VC Club and the US Marine Corps Reserve.
 
Note: For over 50 years the US Marine Corps Reserve has been conducting a nationwide program - "Toys for Tots" - to assist impoverished and needy children with toys during the Christmas season.
